Chess

A black circle represents the state of the board when the computer moves. The red state when it is the other platers turn. A black line represents one attempted move bt the computer, red the opponents move. One processor could handle the task of examining every possible move.

Perhaps how a human brain works is this. First not that each circle is identical this is of course only true if you assume that each model does not change with experience. So perhaps rather than one machine attempting to do the work at each step over and over again. A new machine could be created to examine each option. Each new machine would have to communicate some metrics back to the others. With unlimited resources it would be possible for each machine to gather the aid of an unlimited number of helpers. In reality this may never be the case. The nodes, balls or models whatever they may be called. must come to agreement on where to spend their resources.
